The UK Trade & Investment section of the British High Commission is dedicated to helping UK companies succeed in Ghana. UK business interests in Ghana continue to grow and our export figures demonstrate year on year growth. UKTI provides a range of market access support through our Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS); such as preparing market reports, helping to identify potential partners and customers, managing product launches and arranging visit programmes and events. In 2010/11 we supported a diverse range of businesses – from software developers to upstream petroleum supply companies.
The opportunities of doing business in the Ghana market is something we promote actively at trade seminars and exhibitions in the UK. In 2011 UKTI arranged for the CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation to attend Offshore Europe in Aberdeen (one of the largest oil & gas trade exhibitions in the world) to be the guest speaker at a UKTI Ghana seminar, as well as introducing him to UK companies. UKTI also identify Ghanaian companies interested in attending trade exhibitions in the UK in order to form partnerships with British companies, such as the TechWorld, Education Show and the London Book Fair.
The Ghanaian economy is growing rapidly and there are many opportunities for doing business here. If you would like to find out more about UKTI and its services please go to www.ukti.gov.uk. To get in touch with the UKTI team in Ghana please email DLAccraUKTIprotect@fco.gov.uk
