Defence relations

A Defence Attache gives military advice to the High Commission and develops defence-related bilateral links between Britain and Ghana. He does this by promoting UK military doctrine, training and defence diplomacy, and encouraging defence cooperation and regional stability.  (The Section which also has responsibility has for Cote d' Ivoire and Togo is based within the High Commission, and consists of a Defence Adviser, an Army Lieutenant Colonel and an Assistant Defence Adviser, an Army Senior non-commissioned Officer). The work of Defence Section is focused on support for defence policy, defence diplomacy, security sector reform, capacity building for peace support operation, the Section is also responsible for defence sales and supply.
